Troubleshooting
The dashboard says “locked”
Section titled “The dashboard says “locked””Open the link verentis dashboard printed, or run verentis dashboard --url to print it again. A new tab needs the link or the token.
If the message says the token file cannot be used, delete data/dashboard-token and restart the dashboard. Visit it as 127.0.0.1 or localhost; other host names are refused.
The superadmin console is locked
Section titled “The superadmin console is locked”It needs the admin token, not the dashboard token. Run verentis admin --url and open that link. See Superadmin console.
“command not found: verentis”
Section titled ““command not found: verentis””Activate the virtual environment first: source .venv/bin/activate (Windows: .venv\Scripts\activate).
Discovery finds nothing
Section titled “Discovery finds nothing”- Confirm signals first: nothing is collected until you do. See Confirm signals.
- The free OpenStreetMap source only covers businesses with mapped premises. Open Find companies to compare the other sources.
A run will not start: “Not enough credits”
Section titled “A run will not start: “Not enough credits””The wallet cannot cover the estimate. Check Credits, and ask your administrator for a top-up. Free work (reading websites, the Outbox, replies) carries on meanwhile.
Paid work stopped and Home says “Credits exhausted”
Section titled “Paid work stopped and Home says “Credits exhausted””Searches, tracking, maps and footprint checks pause when credits reach zero. They resume on the next cycle after credits are added.
A committee map has nobody on it
Section titled “A committee map has nobody on it”- The evidence may be thin. Add a Serper key so the map can run web searches, or pass your own evidence with
verentis map ... --evidence file.json. - Check Everyone considered: people below the review line are listed there with the reason.
- With Claude as the judge, confidence is self-reported. Jev gives calibrated probabilities, and an evaluation shows which works better on your data.
Footprint results say “Unknown”
Section titled “Footprint results say “Unknown””The site blocked the check (a bot protection page). It is retried later. It is not a “not found”.
Claude calls fail
Section titled “Claude calls fail”Run claude login and confirm the subscription is active. Test with claude -p "say hi". verentis status --check checks the CLI without sending a prompt.
Emails land in spam
Section titled “Emails land in spam”Almost always the domain, not the copy. Check SPF, DKIM and DMARC on the sending domain, confirm it was warmed up, and halve your volume.
Verentis does nothing during the day
Section titled “Verentis does nothing during the day”Check quiet_hours and whether it hit usage.max_daily_claude_percent. verentis status shows the current state.
How do I stop it right now?
Section titled “How do I stop it right now?”Press Ctrl + C where verentis run is running, press Stop the agents on the Agent page, or Pause all sending in the Outbox to stop only outbound email. Everything is saved, so it resumes cleanly.
